Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake chocolate croissants from puff pastry? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Take the puff pastry out ahead of time to defrost at room temperature. It can consist of 4 sheets, or it can be a whole layer. I had a whole layer folded into 4 turns. I used half the dough, which I also divided into two parts along the fold. If you have 4 separate sheets, then just use two of them. Turn on the oven at 180C in advance.

Step 2

Step 2
Take one piece of dough and cut it into equilateral triangles. To make the triangles the same, I cut off the edges (as in the photo).

Step 3

Step 3
I used milk chocolate with nuts and raisins to provide the croissants with additional flavor and the filling with additional structure. The chocolate can be cut into small pieces with a knife, or you can simply crumble it into small pieces with your hands. Place a few pieces of chocolate at the base of the triangles.

Step 4

Step 4
Roll the blanks into rolls. Using the same method, form croissants from the second sheet of dough. The remaining edges (if you cut them too) can be joined together by pressing along the seam, also filled with chocolate and baked.

Step 5

Step 5
Place parchment paper on a baking sheet or baking dish. Place the pieces at a short distance from each other, as they will slightly increase in size in the oven. Brush future croissants with egg yolk for a blush. If you want the crust to be lighter, dilute the yolk with milk. It is convenient to use a silicone brush for lubrication.

Step 6

Step 6
Place the croissants in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for about 15 minutes. The exact time depends on the features of your oven. The croissants should be browned, which will indicate their readiness. Remove the finished croissants from the oven and serve. Enjoy your tea!
