Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make donuts with milk and yeast at home? Prepare all ingredients according to the list. This pastry is not only delicious, but also budget-friendly. Products for their preparation can be found in every caring housewife’s home. Place a piece of butter in a deep bowl and melt in the microwave or in a water bath.

Step 2

Step 2
Pour in milk (I used milk with 3.2% fat content); the higher the percentage of fat content of the product, the richer the baked goods will be.

Step 3

Step 3
Add sugar and a pinch of salt (to balance the taste), stir the mixture until the bulk ingredients are completely dissolved.

Step 4

Step 4
Beat the chicken egg with a fork in a separate bowl and pour into the bowl with the rest of the ingredients. Mix the mixture well again. Wash the egg with baking soda before use, as there may be harmful bacteria on its surface.

Step 5

Step 5
Sift the wheat flour through a sieve and combine with dry yeast (I use instant yeast, it can be added directly to the flour). Pour the flour and yeast into the bowl with the liquid and knead the dough. Instead of dry yeast, you can use live yeast, then the dough preparation process will be slightly different. You will need to activate them in milk with sugar heated to 38 degrees and only then knead the dough.

Step 6

Step 6
You may need a little less or more flour. If necessary, add flour a little at a time and knead the dough with your hands on a floured board. You should get an elastic soft dough. Leave it in a bowl covered with film for 40 minutes at room temperature.

Step 7

Step 7
After a while, divide the dough into several parts, roll each of them into a layer. Using a glass, cut out donut blanks and make a hole in the middle. Leave them on the counter for 10 minutes to rise slightly.

Step 8

Step 8
Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan or saucepan and heat it well. Place the donuts in the oil and fry them over medium heat until golden brown on both sides.

Step 9

Step 9
Each subsequent batch of donuts will cook faster, so you shouldn’t go too far from the frying pan to prevent the donuts from browning too much and acquiring an unpleasant bitterness. Place the finished fluffy milk donuts fried in a frying pan on a paper towel to absorb excess oil. Dust the donuts with powdered sugar and serve. Bon appetit!
