Tasty, healthy, appetizing, quick! Broccoli and chicken casserole always turns out juicy and satisfying. Itʼs quick to make and has a wonderful baked cheese crust on top. Leeks add a piquant flavor to this dish, but replace them with onions if desired.

How to make broccoli and chicken casserole? Take all the necessary ingredients.

Disassemble the broccoli into florets, rinse under running water and boil in boiling salted water until half cooked. I usually cook for about 5 minutes because I donʼt like overcooked broccoli. Do the same if you are using frozen broccoli.

Drain the water and cool the broccoli slightly. Then cut each inflorescence of boiled broccoli into two or three more pieces.

Wash the fillet in running water, dry it, cut into small pieces.

Wash the leek well (since the soil in which it grew may remain between the feathers of the onion), cut into half rings. It is better to use only the white part of the leek and a small part of the green one. Greens are usually tough and tasteless.

Pour a little vegetable oil into a preheated frying pan and fry the chicken breasts for a couple of minutes, then add the chopped leeks.

Fry for about five minutes, add salt and pepper to taste. At this stage, you can add any of your favorite spices.

Take a baking dish or baking sheet and place the fried meat and leeks.

Pour cream over everything and sprinkle with finely grated cheese. You can first mix the cheese and cream in a separate bowl and pour the cheese sauce over the chicken and broccoli. You can take cream of any fat content or replace it with milk. Take fresh and high-quality cheese, without vegetable fats, so that it melts well.

Place the broccoli and chicken in an oven preheated to 180 degrees. Bake for about 25 minutes until the cheese crust is golden. Baking time may vary slightly depending on your oven. You can be guided by the color of the cheese crust; if it is golden, the dish is ready (since we initially use ready-made ingredients, nothing will be left raw and unbaked). Bon appetit!
