Cheesy Sausage Potato Casserole

A quick, hot, satisfying and delicious dinner option for the whole family. This food is perfect for dinner when you don’t have time to cook anything more complex, and the whole family is hungry. There is little point in praising such a dish, since there are hardly people who are indifferent to potatoes and sausages. Itʼs so delicious!

Ingredients (11 portions)

Basic:

Olive oil 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper to taste
Butter 75 g
Potato (the weight of already peeled potatoes is indicated) 1 kg
Hard cheese 100 g
Parsley (for decoration when serving) 0.5 g
Bulb onions 3 pc
Sausages 500 g
Cream 5 tbsp
Herbal mixture (2 tsp dry herbs) to taste

Recipe instructions

Preparing products for casserole. Peel and wash the vegetables. We sort through, wash the parsley (you can also take a couple of green onions), and drain. In a small saucepan, melt the butter over low heat, stirring.

Cut the potatoes into small cubes and place them in a pan of boiling water. After the water boils again, cook the potatoes for 2 minutes. Place in a colander and let the water drain.

Cut the sausages into slices, the onion into thin half rings.

Place the prepared products in a deep baking tray or baking dish greased with a thin layer of melted butter: onions, sausages, potatoes. Pour some melted butter and olive oil on top, sprinkle with a mixture of dry herbs, salt, and ground black pepper to taste.

Repeat the layers, pour in the remaining oil again and sprinkle with the rest of the dry herbs. Place in an oven preheated to 200 degrees for 45 minutes. Cover with a sheet of foil or a lid.

Stir occasionally.

After 45 minutes, pour cream and sprinkle with cheese.

Place back in the oven, removing the foil or lid, and cook for another 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and the casserole is browned.

Decorate the finished dish with parsley and sprinkle with chopped green onions. Bon appetit!
