Nutmeg (ground (pinch) to taste

Milk 80 ml
Eggs 2 pc
Hard cheese 100 g
Broccoli 320 g
Cream (10-20%) 120 ml

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
Prepare the necessary ingredients to prepare broccoli casserole in the oven. Cabbage can be taken either fresh or frozen. I have the second option. Both processed and hard cheese are suitable. Choose the fat content of the cream to taste (10-20%). Remove eggs, milk, and cream from the refrigerator in advance so that they warm up a little at room temperature.

Step 2

Step 2
Boil the cabbage first. If the broccoli is fresh, then it needs to be disassembled into inflorescences and rinsed well under running water. Frozen cabbage does not need to be thawed before cooking. Place the broccoli florets in boiling salted water and cook the vegetable for 5-7 minutes. It is very important not to overcook the broccoli so that it does not become too soft and crumbly. The taste of the finished dish will depend on how the cabbage is cooked.

Step 3

Step 3
Place the finished broccoli in a colander and immediately rinse with cold water so that the cabbage retains its green color to the maximum. Wait until all the liquid has drained.

Step 4

Step 4
In a deep bowl, beat the eggs until smooth. No special fluffiness is required here, so you can use a regular fork.

Step 5

Step 5
Pour in milk, cream, mix everything well.

Step 6

Step 6
Salt the resulting mixture, add nutmeg, stir. When adding salt, consider the saltiness of the cheese you are using.

Step 7

Step 7
Grind the cheese on a medium grater. It will give the filling a thicker consistency and enhance the creamy taste.

Step 8

Step 8
Add 3/4 of the grated cheese to the milk-egg mixture and stir. Save the rest of the cheese for the top of the casserole.

Step 9

Step 9
Grease a baking dish with a piece of butter and arrange the broccoli florets evenly. I have 2 forms with a volume of 280 ml.

Step 10

Step 10
Pour the egg-milk mixture over the cabbage. It should cover the inflorescences.

Step 11

Step 11
Sprinkle the remaining cheese on top of the casserole.

Step 12

Step 12
Place the broccoli casserole in an oven preheated to 180 degrees for 15-20 minutes. Once the top is browned, the casserole is ready.

Step 13

Step 13
Serve the casserole warm or cooled. If desired, you can sprinkle with finely chopped fresh herbs. Bon appetit!
