Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make a pie with whole wheat flour? To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. Take large, selected eggs. You can replace brown sugar with regular white sugar. Kefir should be at room temperature, so remove it from the refrigerator in advance. The fat content of kefir is 2.5%. Instead of strawberries, you can take apples or any other berries or fruits.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the strawberries thoroughly and dry. Remove the tails. Cut the berries in half. You can make this pie with any berries or fruits, but it tastes best with strawberries and apples. It is advisable to take fresh strawberries — they do not contain as much moisture as frozen ones. If the strawberries are frozen, defrost them first and drain all the juice.

Step 3

Step 3
Sift both types of flour into a bowl and mix with baking powder and salt. You can replace all the flour with whole grain flour, but then the cake will have a denser consistency. Therefore, baked goods with whole grain flour are usually diluted with premium wheat flour.

Step 4

Step 4
Pour in kefir at room temperature. Mix everything thoroughly with a whisk until a homogeneous viscous mass. Please note that you may need more or less flour, look at the consistency of the dough.

Step 5

Step 5
Add lemon zest and mix the mixture well.

Step 6

Step 6
In a separate bowl, beat the eggs with sugar and vanilla sugar until fluffy.

Step 7

Step 7
The mass should increase in volume by 3-4 times. There should be a lot of air bubbles in it.

Step 8

Step 8
Pour the beaten eggs into the kefir-flour mixture. Stir gently.

Step 9

Step 9
Place half of the dough in a parchment-lined and greased baking pan. Place sliced strawberries on top.

Step 10

Step 10
Spread the remaining dough on top. Bake the pie in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 50 minutes. The exact time depends on your oven and the thickness of the cake.

Step 11

Step 11
Remove the finished cake from the mold, sprinkle with powdered sugar if desired and serve. Bon appetit!
