Semolina 160 g
Kefir 200 ml
Pears 1 pc

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make semolina pie in the oven? Prepare your food. Kefir is suitable for any fat content, it doesn’t matter. It is better if it is at room temperature, remove it from the refrigerator in advance. The same applies to eggs — warm ingredients will make the pie more fluffy. If you did not have time to do this, then keep the eggs in warm water and heat the kefir on the stove.

Step 2

Step 2
Start cooking by preparing semolina — fill it with kefir and leave for 30-40 minutes to swell. Consider this time in advance, because the cake itself is kneaded very quickly. Stir the mixture from time to time.

Step 3

Step 3
After time has passed, begin directly kneading the dough. Beat the eggs into a bowl. Start beating them, gradually increasing the speed of the mixer. While doing this, add sugar and a pinch of salt in portions. Salt acts as a flavor enhancer in sweet baked goods, so donʼt be afraid to add it. Beat the eggs until light and fluffy. How to beat eggs correctly, read the article at the link at the end of the recipe.

Step 4

Step 4
Pour the beaten eggs into the swollen semolina. Mix both masses well until smooth.

Step 5

Step 5
Pour baking powder into the flour and stir it in — this will help the cake rise evenly. Sift the flour and baking powder into the bowl with the dough. It is important to sift the flour to saturate it with oxygen. Then the cake will turn out airy and rise well during baking.

Step 6

Step 6
Gently stir in the flour until the dough becomes homogeneous; it has the consistency of thick sour cream. Try not to disturb the fluffiness of the egg mass, otherwise the cake will not turn out as fluffy.

Step 7

Step 7
Wash and dry the pear. Cut it into 4 parts, cut out the core with seeds and stalks. Cut the quarters into thin slices.

Step 8

Step 8
Take a baking dish. Any ovenproof pan will work for this cake. If you use silicone, you do not need to coat it with oil. But it is better to lightly grease metal, ceramic or glass dishes with vegetable oil so that the baked goods do not burn. Pour the dough into the mold and place the pear pieces on top. I have a silicone mold measuring 20*9 cm.

Step 9

Step 9
Bake the pie in the oven, preheated to 180°C, top-bottom mode, without convection. Convection will keep the cake dry. Baking time is from 40 minutes to 1 hour. This will depend on the features of your oven and the size of the pan. My pie only took an hour to bake because it turned out tall. Check doneness with a wooden skewer — it should come out dry from the middle of the pie. Remove the finished pie from the oven, cool and release from the mold.

Step 10

Step 10
It is better to cool this pie completely, then it will not crumble when slicing. Serve the pie to the table. Bon appetit!
