Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make a whey pie in the oven? Prepare the necessary ingredients for the dough. Take the highest grade flour. You can use homemade whey or ready-made store-bought whey. I have homemade whey left over from making Adyghe cheese.

Step 2

Step 2
Add vinegar, sugar and salt to the warm whey and stir. Taste the whey before adding salt. If it is salty, it does not need additional salt.

Step 3

Step 3
Melt the butter and cool. Pour the melted butter into the whey and stir. You can replace butter with vegetable oil.

Step 4

Step 4
Add the flour sifted with soda in parts and knead into a soft, elastic dough, adding a little more flour if necessary. You can read more about flour and its properties, as well as the nuances of working with soda in separate articles, link at the end of the recipe.

Step 5

Step 5
Please note that you may need more or less flour. The dough itself will take as much as it needs. If the dough is still sticky and you need even more flour than the recipe calls for, it is better not to overfill the dough with flour, otherwise the finished dough will be too dense and tasteless. It is better to sprinkle flour on your rolling pin and table when rolling. Roll the dough into a ball.

Step 6

Step 6
Wrap the dough in cling film and leave for 15 minutes. During this time, gluten will develop in the flour, and the dough will be elastic and pliable. This dough is also ideal for pizza. Turn the oven on 180 degrees.

Step 7

Step 7
Now prepare the filling. You can use any minced meat: pork, beef, or a mixture of pork and beef. And also chicken or turkey. But keep in mind that the calorie content and cooking time will change. You can use homemade mayonnaise or replace it with sour cream. You will find recipes for homemade mayonnaise after the last step.

Step 8

Step 8
Peel the bell pepper from seeds and stems and cut into small cubes.

Step 9

Step 9
In a bowl, combine the minced meat, bell pepper, mayonnaise and spices and mix thoroughly until smooth.

Step 10

Step 10
Now prepare the fill. If the eggs are small, you can take 2 pieces. You can replace mayonnaise with sour cream, but in this case add spices to taste.

Step 11

Step 11
Combine the egg with mayonnaise and beat with a fork until smooth.

Step 12

Step 12
Roll out the dough into an even circle and place in a parchment-lined and greased baking dish (Ø 22 cm). Make the sides. Prick the bottom with a fork. You can find information about baking pans and parchment paper at the end of the recipe under the steps.

Step 13

Step 13
Spread the minced meat evenly over the dough.

Step 14

Step 14
Pour the egg-mayonnaise mixture over the filling. Bake the pie in an oven preheated to 180℃ for 40-50 minutes until cooked and golden brown. The exact time depends on the oven. You can learn about the operating features of ovens from a separate article, link at the end of the recipe

Step 15

Step 15
Place the finished pie on a plate, cut into pieces and serve. Bon appetit!
