Fluffy Red Currant Yeast Pies

These lush, rosy and fragrant pies are just begging to be put into your mouth! I make these pies in the summer from fresh berries, and in the winter from frozen ones, and they always fly away in my family! The dough for this recipe turns out very fluffy, and the currant filling gives the pies a pleasant sourness and aroma! Try it!

Using a spoon and then using your hands, knead the dough. You need to knead for 10-15 minutes, as they say, “until it stops sticking to your hands.” I usually trust this process to a bread maker, it helps me a lot with this!

Here are all the ingredients for the filling. Any currant is suitable for the recipe: red, black, white or a mixture of currants — it will be even tastier! By the way, frozen currants, in my opinion, do not lose their appearance or taste at all, so in winter we can also make such pies and feel the taste of summer!

Step 12

Step 12
Currants, wash, sort, remove branches

Step 13

Step 13
After an hour, the dough came together very well, even though we didn’t use any dough, but mixed dry yeast directly with flour — after all, our yeast is fast-acting dry

Lightly sprinkle the finished pies with some water, cover with a towel and let cool. The aroma is simply magnificent!
