Orange-Zest Apple Raisin Shortbread Pie

Try a pie made from aromatic shortcrust pastry with apple filling! The dough for such a closed pie has a delicate orange note due to the orange zest included in its composition. The filling can be made differently. This can be any fruit and (or) dried fruit, cottage cheese with vanilla or jam. Everything is at your discretion. Shortbread pie with a delicious crispy crust will be a wonderful addition to your tea party!

Ingredients (16 portions)

Basic:

Sugar (plus for the filling — to taste.) 0.25 cup
Apples (large) 1 pc
Wheat flour 200 g
Butter 150 g
Oranges (for the zest) 1 pc
Eggs (one egg — in the dough, plus a yolk — for greasing the top of the pie.) 2 pc
Raisin 60 g
Soda 0.25 tsp

Grate the butter from the freezer.

Then add the beaten egg and orange zest. Mix well.

Gradually add flour. You may need a little more or less flour.

You should get a soft, loose dough. Wrap it in film and place it in the refrigerator for 30 minutes.

Lightly grease the baking sheet with vegetable oil and roll out our dough into a rectangular layer 0.5 cm thick. You can make one large pie. I decided to make 2 small pies.

Peel the apple and cut into thin slices.

Along the layer, in the middle part, we lay out apple slices.

Sprinkle them evenly with washed raisins. Sprinkle a little sugar on top (to taste depending on the sweetness of the apple).

Using a knife, cut the edges of the dough layer into ribbons and intertwine them so that they cover the filling.

Brush the top of the pie with beaten yolk and place in a preheated oven at 200 degrees. oven for about 20 minutes. Bake until golden brown.
