Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake fluffy yeast pies in the oven? Prepare the ingredients for the dough. You can make any filling for the pies to suit your taste: sweet or savory, for example, meat, but then the amount of sugar in the dough needs to be reduced. Pour a glass of warm milk (36-40 degrees) into a bowl. It should be warm, but not scalding. If the milk is too hot, the yeast will die, but if it is cold, it will not activate.

Step 2

Step 2
Dissolve sugar in milk, add a tablespoon of wheat flour, mix everything so that the flour disperses, and add dry yeast. Stir again and place the dough in a warm place for 10-15 minutes.

Step 3

Step 3
During the specified time, the yeast should be activated, and a cap of yeast foam will appear on the surface of the mixture. If this does not happen, then the yeast will have to be replaced. In a separate bowl, beat the egg with a fork or whisk until smooth. Melt the butter in the microwave and cool to room temperature.

Step 4

Step 4
Pour the egg mixture into the bowl with the dough. Add melted butter there too. Stir. Sift the wheat flour, it is better to do this repeatedly to saturate the flour with oxygen, this will make the dough and products made from it more airy and soft. Pour the flour into the bowl with the liquid and stir the mixture with a spatula.

Step 5

Step 5
When the dough becomes difficult to knead, place it on the table and continue kneading the dough, adding flour in parts, until the dough comes together into one ball. You may need a little more or a little less flour than the specified amount. Yeast dough loves your hands, so you need to knead it as long as possible. The dough should be elastic and smooth, slightly sticking to your hands. Place the dough back into the bowl, cover with cling film and set aside in a warm place for 2 hours.

Step 6

Step 6
Prepare the necessary ingredients for the filling. Boil the potatoes until tender, drain the water, add butter, salt and black pepper to taste and puree in a blender until smooth. The filling is ready.

Step 7

Step 7
Punch down the risen dough and leave for another hour to rise. Divide the finished dough into 10 pieces. Turn the oven on 180 degrees.

Step 8

Step 8
Roll each piece into a ball and roll it out into a flat cake with a rolling pin. Place the filling in the center of the cake and seal the edges.

Step 9

Step 9
Place the pies on a greased baking sheet, let them rise in a warm place for about 10 minutes, then brush with beaten egg yolk. Bake the pies at 180 degrees for about 30 minutes. The exact time depends on the features of your oven. Lush pies made with yeast are ready. Bon appetit!
