Oven-Baked Spiral Skewered Potatoes

The potato that will fly away first from the festive table! A very elegant, oven-baked potato spiral. It immediately attracts attention and is the first to be eaten at the table. The cooking process takes a little effort, but itʼs worth it!

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to deliciously bake potatoes in a spiral for the holiday table? For this dish, it is better to use large oval-shaped tubers. We prepare one large potato per person. Wash the potatoes thoroughly with a brush and rinse in clean water. Dry the tubers with paper towels.

Step 2

Step 2
Pierce each potato through the center with an iron skewer. You can use wooden skewers for this recipe, but they are a little more difficult to pierce raw potatoes and may break the wooden stick.

Step 3

Step 3
Using a sharp small knife, make a cut on top of the potato, as in the photo.

Step 4

Step 4
Without pulling out the knife, cut the potatoes lengthwise in a spiral, constantly resting the blade of the knife against the skewer. Make the size of the potato plates about 0.7-1 cm.

Step 5

Step 5
Then stretch the potato slightly to form a spiral.

Step 6

Step 6
Do the same with the rest of the potatoes.

Step 7

Step 7
Prepare the marinade. In a small container, mix vegetable oil, soy sauce, ground black and red pepper. Peel the garlic clove and pass through a press. Add to the marinade, mix everything thoroughly. If desired, you can add any favorite seasoning at this stage.

Step 8

Step 8
Using a silicone brush, coat each potato with marinade on the outside and inside of the spring.

Step 9

Step 9
Line a baking sheet with baking paper. Place the skewers with potatoes on a sheet and place in a preheated oven for 20-25 minutes.

Step 10

Step 10
While the potatoes are baking, prepare the topping. Mix finely chopped herbs and cheese. For the recipe, I used a frozen herbes de Provence mixture and Parmesan cheese.

Step 11

Step 11
Sprinkle each spring generously with herbs and cheese.

Step 12

Step 12
Place back in the oven for another 10-15 minutes.

Step 13

Step 13
The finished spring can be served on skewers.

Step 14

Step 14
Or carefully remove the skewers and lightly stretch the potatoes over the plate, as in the photo. Effective and very beautiful!
