Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake chicken fillet with potatoes in the oven? To do this, prepare the necessary ingredients. If you use ready-made spice mixtures, be sure to read the ingredients on the package. Often such mixtures already contain salt and pepper, take this into account, otherwise you risk oversalting and peppering the dish.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the chicken fillet, dry it and cut it crosswise into slices.

Step 3

Step 3
Beat each slice with a hammer, while trying to maintain the integrity of the piece. Sprinkle the resulting chicken pieces with chicken spices, dry garlic, salt and pepper. If desired, you can replace dry garlic with 1-2 cloves of fresh garlic, passed through a press.

Step 4

Step 4
Pour kefir over the chicken, stir and leave to marinate in the refrigerator for 1 hour or longer.

Step 5

Step 5
Peel the potatoes and cut into slices. Salt and pepper the potatoes, pour 2 tbsp. l. vegetable oil and stir. I sprinkled the remaining chicken spices over the potatoes.

Step 6

Step 6
Wash the tomatoes and cut into slices. Choose tomatoes that are juicy but firm. Soft fruits do not hold their shape well; during cutting and cooking, they will spread into a shapeless mass and spoil the appearance of the dish.

Step 7

Step 7
Cut the onion into thin rings.

Step 8

Step 8
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.

Step 9

Step 9
Place all the potatoes in a baking dish greased with the remaining vegetable oil.

Step 10

Step 10
Place onion rings on top.

Step 11

Step 11
Place the prepared chicken fillet on the onion.

Step 12

Step 12
Place tomato slices over the fillet.

Step 13

Step 13
Combine the grated cheese with the remaining kefir marinade from the chicken and mix.

Step 14

Step 14
Spread the cheese-kefir mixture on top of the tomatoes in a thin, even layer. Place the mold in an oven preheated to 180°C for 40-45 minutes. The exact time depends on how your oven operates. Read more about this in the article at the link at the end of the recipe. If the cheese begins to brown and the potatoes and chicken are not yet ready, cover the pan with foil. Bon appetit!
