Basic:

Garlic 10 clove
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper to taste
Apples (large sweet varieties or semi-sweet) 4 pc
Potato 1.5 kg
Vegetable oil 50 ml
Dry rosemary 1 tsp
Oregano dry 1 tsp
Ground red pepper to taste
Chicken legs 4 pc

How to bake chicken with potatoes and apples in the oven? Prepare all the indicated products. You can take a whole chicken, but the dish made from chicken legs is tastier. If you have frozen meat, you should first defrost it at room temperature. Cut the chicken into pieces or, if you are using chicken legs, cut them into two pieces.

Peel the potatoes and garlic, rinse in cold water and dry. Wash the apples, dry and cut into slices.

Sprinkle portioned chicken pieces with dry spices and salt to taste. What spices should I use? Take ready-made chicken mixture or any other mixture of your choice. I used rosemary, dried oregano, basil, garlic powder and a mixture of ground pepper. Pour in half the vegetable oil and mix thoroughly. Cover with cling film and leave to marinate at room temperature for an hour or in the refrigerator overnight.

Cut large potato tubers into quarters or halves, and leave smaller ones whole. Place potatoes, apples and peeled garlic cloves into a large, convenient bowl. Salt to taste and add spices. I used the same seasonings as for chicken in an amount of 0.5 tsp. spoons of each. Pour in the remaining vegetable oil and mix everything. Line a baking tray with baking paper. Spread the potatoes and apples in an even layer.

Place chicken on top, pressing lightly into potatoes.

Place the pan in the preheated oven and bake until done. The time and temperature depend entirely on the capabilities of your oven. I cooked at 220 degrees on the “top-low” mode for about an hour. Next, set the “convection” mode and left for another 10 minutes until a golden brown crust appears.
