Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make accordion potatoes with cheese? Prepare all the necessary ingredients.

Step 2

Step 2
Take the garlic, peel it, pass it through a press or chop it in another convenient way: on a small grater or with a knife. Add Provençal herbs, salt and pepper to the garlic. Pour in the olive oil, mix everything and set aside, let the oil be thoroughly saturated with the aromas of garlic and spices. Instead of Provencal herbs, you can use any other spices or ready-made seasoning for potatoes. Oil, you can use any vegetable oil.

Step 3

Step 3
Take the cheese and cut into small thin slices. Take a fresh, high-quality product without vegetable fats that melts well, as this may affect the taste of the finished dish.

Step 4

Step 4
Take the potatoes, wash them well with a brush and soap under running water, since there is no need to peel the skins in this recipe, it will help maintain the shape of the potatoes. Dry it with napkins or paper towels. Make deep cuts in each tuber at a distance of 5 mm from each other. I used spoons, which I placed tightly on both sides to limit the movement of the knife and make a cut, not a cut.

Step 5

Step 5
Take the chilled butter, cut it into thin slices and put it into the potato cuts one at a time.

Step 6

Step 6
Take a baking dish, grease it with vegetable oil and place the potatoes in the dish. Brush each potato with olive oil, garlic and spices, making sure to get it into the cuts.

Step 7

Step 7
Cover the pan with foil and place in an oven preheated to 200°C for about 45 minutes.

Step 8

Step 8
Remove the pan from the oven, carefully remove the foil so as not to burn yourself. Place pieces of cheese into the slits in the potatoes. Bake for another 20 minutes. The time is approximate, it may need more, be guided by your oven — the potatoes should be well baked and not hard. Check readiness by piercing the potatoes with the tip of a knife; they should be soft.
