Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake baby potatoes in the oven? Prepare all the necessary products. Try to choose large, smooth potatoes without obvious damage or green spots. You can use any greens. I used dill, but parsley and green onions would work great too.

Step 2

Step 2
Rinse the potatoes very well under running water. Scrub it with a brush to remove all the dirt and sand. Then wipe each tuber dry with a towel. Take foil, tear off a piece about 50 cm long. Wrap the potato, carefully pressing the foil onto the tuber. It should look like this neat little bag.

Step 3

Step 3
Wrap all the potatoes in the same way. Place it in a baking dish or directly on a baking sheet. Place the pan with potatoes in the oven, preheated to 180°C, for 60-80 minutes. Top-bottom mode. The baking time for potatoes depends on their size and how your oven operates. To check for doneness, pierce the potatoes directly in the foil with a toothpick. The finished potatoes are easily pierced to the very end.

Step 4

Step 4
While the potatoes are baking, prepare the filling. Rinse the dill well and dry. Finely chop.

Step 5

Step 5
Grate the cheese on a fine grater. You can use any cheese, as long as it is natural and melts well.

Step 6

Step 6
Remove the finished potatoes from the oven, but do not turn off the oven itself.

Step 7

Step 7
Use a sharp knife to cut the potato lengthwise, right next to the foil, slightly short of the end. Open into two halves. Do not remove the foil; it will serve as a plate in the future. Do this very carefully, the potatoes are very hot. Take kitchen mittens or oven mitts.

Step 8

Step 8
Using a fork, mash the potato flesh. Salt and pepper it.

Step 9

Step 9
Place a piece of butter. Because the potatoes are hot, they will immediately begin to melt. Using a fork, gently stir the butter.

Step 10

Step 10
Add some greens. Add grated cheese on top. Stuff all the potatoes in the same way.

Step 11

Step 11
Return the potatoes to the pan. This is where I made a mistake. I folded the halves too tightly and the cheese leaked out a bit when baking. It is better to take a larger form and leave the potatoes uncovered so that the cheese remains on top.

Step 12

Step 12
Bake the potatoes in foil for another 5-10 minutes until the cheese melts. Serve ready-made potato crumbs at home with filling immediately, piping hot, on the table. Bon appetit!
