Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make Gratin with chicken and mushrooms? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. Instead of champignons, you can use any mushrooms. Just keep in mind that some of them need to be boiled first. The classic recipe uses chicken breast fillet. However, you can take meat from the thigh, which will make the gratin even tastier. Take a large onion or 2 small ones. Take milk with a fat content of at least 2%, any vegetable oil, and cheese that melts well.

Step 2

Step 2
For the specified amount of food, take a heat-resistant dish approximately 25x35 cm with high sides. If you are using a silicone mold, you do not need to grease it. But it is better to lightly grease metal, ceramic or glass with vegetable oil so that the dish does not burn. Rinse the fillets and dry with paper towels to prevent excess liquid from escaping. Cut it across the grain into thin slices. Beat lightly and place tightly on the bottom of the mold.

Step 3

Step 3
Lightly salt the chicken and season with some spices. Peel the onion, wash and cut into thin rings. This way it will cook quickly and will not fall out when cutting the gratin into portions. Place evenly on top of chicken. Press down lightly.

Step 4

Step 4
Peel the champignons, rinse and cut into thin slices. This way the taste of the mushrooms will be better preserved and they will cook faster. Spread the mushrooms over the onions, pressing lightly over the entire surface.

Step 5

Step 5
Wash and peel the potatoes well. Cut into thin rings and distribute evenly.

Step 6

Step 6
In a separate container, mix milk with salt and spices until the salt is completely dissolved.

Step 7

Step 7
Pour the resulting gratin sauce evenly over the top. Bake for 45-50 minutes on the middle shelf of an oven preheated to 180 degrees in the “top-bottom” mode until the potatoes are soft. If the potatoes begin to dry out during baking, cover the pan with foil.

Step 8

Step 8
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater.

Step 9

Step 9
Sprinkle grated cheese on top.

Step 10

Step 10
Place in the oven for another 10-15 minutes until the cheese is completely melted.
