How to bake potatoes with ham and cheese in the oven? Prepare your food. Take medium sized potatoes. Both regular, boiled and smoked ham is suitable — the taste will be even more interesting with it. Wash and dry the vegetables first.

Peel the onion and cut into quarters of rings. To avoid irritating the mucous membranes of your eyes when cutting onions, rinse the onion and knife with cold water. The cutting board will not absorb the unpleasant onion smell if you rub it with a slice of lemon before cutting.

Fry the chopped onion in a tablespoon of odorless vegetable oil until golden brown.

Cut the potatoes into medium-sized cubes.

Ham — into cubes. Or also into cubes, as you prefer.

Take a suitable baking dish. I have a ceramic one measuring 23*14*6 cm. Pour the remaining vegetable oil into it, grease the bottom and sides of the mold with it. Place the potatoes, salt and pepper them. Stir. You can also use your favorite spices.

Place fried onions on top of the potatoes. And on it — cubes of ham.

Cover the pan with foil and fold the edges. Place the dish in the oven, preheated to 180°C. Bake it for 40-50 minutes, depending on the features of your oven and the amount of food.

While the potatoes and ham are baking, grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Any cheese is suitable for this dish — hard, semi-hard, soft, like mozzarella. The main thing is that it is tasty, of high quality, without milk fat substitutes, and melts well.

After time has passed, remove the pan with potatoes from the oven, but do not turn off the heat. Remove the foil and sprinkle the top with cheese. You can use it in larger quantities, it’s a matter of taste.

Return the pan to the oven for another 5-10 minutes until the cheese has melted. Remove the finished dish from the oven.
