Potato 450 g
Vegetable oil 2 tbsp

Chicken thighs (with or without bone) 700 g

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake chicken thighs with potatoes? Prepare the necessary ingredients. The thighs on the bone can be cut in half, or you can leave them whole, just remove the tail part along with the glands, if any. I had thighs without bone and skin, which can be cut in half or not cut at all, they will be baked well anyway. I didnʼt cut it, I just cleaned off some excess fat. The red sweet onion can be replaced with shallots or regular onions.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash and dry the chicken meat.

Step 3

Step 3
Wash the potatoes, peel and cut into medium cubes. If you have small new potatoes, you can not peel them, but wash them thoroughly with a brush. In this case, pierce the tubers with a fork and bake whole.

Step 4

Step 4
Peel the onion and cut into 4-6 pieces.

Step 5

Step 5
Place the chicken and potatoes in a deep bowl, sprinkle them with dry garlic, paprika, ground pepper and salt. Mix everything and leave to marinate for 30 minutes. Turn on the oven to 180 degrees in advance.

Step 6

Step 6
Transfer the potatoes and chicken to a baking dish. Add the onion cut into slices.

Step 7

Step 7
Drizzle olive oil over everything. Bake the chicken thighs and potatoes in the oven for about 40 minutes. Periodically baste the chicken and potatoes with the juice from the bottom of the pan. After the specified time has passed, increase the temperature to 200°C and bake for about 5 minutes until the chicken is crispy. The times are approximate, please be guided by the performance of your equipment. Read about how ovens work in a separate article at the end of this recipe.
