Ingredients (4 portions)

Basic:

Garlic 3 clove
Tomatoes (I have them cut in their own juice) 100 g
Salt to taste
Water (warm) 300 ml
Potato 300 g
Vegetable oil 1 tbsp
Dry spices (for lamb) to taste
bell pepper (I have ramiro pepper) 1 pc
Dill to taste
Olives 40 g
Mutton (I have a boneless ham) 400 g
Balsamic vinegar 2 tbsp

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to stew lamb with potatoes? Prepare your ingredients. For this recipe, it is better to use fresh meat rather than frozen, otherwise the finished dish risks turning out dry. I have a boneless ham. Wash and dry the meat and vegetables.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel the potatoes and cut into medium cubes, remove the seeds from the pepper, cut the pulp into strips, finely chop the peeled garlic. Cover the potatoes with water for now; you will need them a little later.

Step 3

Step 3
Cut the lamb into medium pieces.

Step 4

Step 4
Fry the meat over high heat in vegetable oil until golden brown. Thanks to this, the juice will be “sealed” inside and the meat will remain soft and juicy.

Step 5

Step 5
Add garlic to the meat. Fry them together, stirring, for another 3 minutes.

Step 6

Step 6
Add tomatoes, vinegar, salt and pepper. Stir. I have chopped tomatoes in their own juice, you can take fresh tomatoes and chop them yourself. Or replace the tomatoes with tomato paste diluted with water.

Step 7

Step 7
Pour in 300 ml of warm water, mix thoroughly. It is important to pour in warm water so that there is no temperature difference — this can cause the meat to become tough.

Step 8

Step 8
Lastly, add the bell pepper to the lamb.

Step 9

Step 9
Simmer everything together under the lid over low heat for 40 minutes.

Step 10

Step 10
Then add the potatoes, stir and continue to simmer for about 20-30 minutes. Taste the dish for salt and add more salt if necessary.

Step 11

Step 11
Sprinkle the finished dish with olives cut into halves and chopped dill. Serve to the table. Bon appetit!
