Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to stew potatoes and meat in a saucepan? Prepare the necessary ingredients. Choose pork neck or tenderloin. If necessary, defrost the meat by transferring it from the freezer to the bottom shelf of the refrigerator in advance. As a spice, you can also add paprika or use ready-made mixtures for meat.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash and dry the meat piece with paper towels and cut into medium pieces.

Step 3

Step 3
Wash the carrots and potatoes thoroughly. Peel the vegetables and cut them into small cubes. If desired, carrots can also be cut into cubes, circles, cubes, or coarsely grated.

Step 4

Step 4
Pour refined vegetable oil with a high smoking point into a frying pan and heat it. Dip a wooden spatula into the hot oil; if bubbles form around it, add the meat slices. Fry the meat over high heat on all sides until golden brown, then transfer them to a thick-bottomed pan.

Step 5

Step 5
Saute the carrots until soft in the same frying pan in which the meat was fried for about 5 minutes. Transfer it to the pork.

Step 6

Step 6
Pour water into the pan, add a little salt, bay leaf and peppercorns.

Step 7

Step 7
Bring to a boil and pour into a saucepan. The liquid should completely cover the meat.

Step 8

Step 8
Add dried spices and thyme to pork.

Step 9

Step 9
Cover the pan with a lid and simmer for about 40 minutes over medium heat until the meat is tender. Stir occasionally to prevent anything from burning. If necessary, add a little boiling water.

Step 10

Step 10
Finally add tomato paste and stir.

Step 11

Step 11
When the pork can be easily pierced with a knife or fork, add the potatoes to the pan. Simmer everything together for about 20 minutes over low heat until the potatoes are done.

Step 12

Step 12
Finely chop the garlic and dill with a knife and add to the rest of the ingredients. Simmer for 2-3 minutes and remove the pan from the stove. Let the dish sit, covered, for 15 minutes. Serve potatoes and meat with pickled or fresh vegetables and herbs. Bon appetit!
