How to cook lentil soup with meat and potatoes? Prepare all the necessary ingredients. You can use any meat, I used beef pulp.

Rinse the beef under running water, place in a saucepan, and cover with cold water. Cover the pan with a lid and place over high heat. How to choose a saucepan for cooking soup, read a separate article at the end of this recipe.

When the water starts to boil, open the lid and skim off the foam with a spoon. Add some salt. Then reduce the heat to medium, cook the meat for an hour or an hour and a half (depending on what part of the beef you use for the soup).

While the meat is cooking, prepare the remaining ingredients. Peel the onion, rinse, cut in half and chop each half finely.

Wash the carrots in running water with a brush, peel, rinse and grate on a coarse grater.

Wash the potatoes in running water using a brush, peel, rinse and cut into small cubes.

Wash the bell pepper in running water, cut in half and remove the seeds and stem. Cut the pepper into small cubes. Peel the garlic and chop finely with a knife or pass through a garlic press.

Wash the tomato, cut into arbitrarily small pieces. If you wish, you can remove the skin from the tomato in advance. To do this, pour boiling water over the tomato and leave for a minute, then carefully drain the water and peel the tomato.

Pour vegetable oil into a frying pan and heat it. Place onions, peppers, carrots and garlic in a frying pan and stir and fry for a while.

Rinse the red lentils in cold water several times until the water runs clear.

Add potatoes to the pan with the cooked meat. Turn the heat to maximum.

Next, add the lentils and mix everything. After boiling, reduce the heat to medium, cover the pan with a lid and cook until the potatoes and lentils are cooked. This will take approximately 15 — 20 minutes.

Remove meat from pan using a fork. Turn the heat back up to maximum. Place the roast into the pan.

After boiling, add tomatoes to the soup. Taste for salt and adjust if necessary.

Cut the meat into pieces.

Rinse the greens in running water, dry and chop finely. I used parsley. Dill and green onions also work well. Add the meat to the soup, followed by the greens. Remove the pan from the heat, cover with a lid and let sit for a while.
