Slow Cooker Chicken Cacciatore Delight

Amazingly delicious Italian chicken thighs. One of my husbandʼs favorite dishes. I make this dish in a large slow cooker... We eat half for dinner and cool and freeze the other half. In a couple of weeks I’ll defrost it and free myself from cooking. And I will spend this time with my beloved family.

Ingredients (8 portions)

Basic:

Garlic 50 g
Tomatoes (I used canned ones in their own juice) 300 g
Ground black pepper to taste
Oregano to taste
Butter 150 g
Broccoli 200 g
Tomato paste 400 g
Carrot 150 g
Bulb onions (One large onion) 150 g
bell pepper 300 g
Chicken thighs 1500 g
Worcestershire sauce 100 ml
Spices, seasonings, seasonings to taste

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
Place the chicken thighs in a hot frying pan and sprinkle with ground black pepper and all-purpose seasoning to taste. I donʼt use salt because all purpose seasoning already has salt in it.

Step 2

Step 2
Fry on both sides in butter until golden brown.

Step 3

Step 3
Place the fried thighs in a slow cooker.

Step 4

Step 4
In the same frying pan where you fried the chicken thighs, add the chopped onion and fry until golden brown.

Step 5

Step 5
After the onion is fried, add chopped garlic to it and almost immediately pour Worcestershire sauce over it. Mix everything for 1-2 minutes and remove from heat.

Step 6

Step 6
Pour the contents of the frying pan (onion + garlic + sauce) onto the chicken.

Step 7

Step 7
Then chop the pepper, broccoli, carrots and also transfer to the slow cooker.

Step 8

Step 8
Next, lay out the tomatoes and pour tomato paste over them. You can use fresh tomatoes and tomatoes canned in their own juice. You can also use ketchup instead of tomato paste. If we use previously salted tomatoes or ketchup, there is no need to add salt. If the tomatoes and tomato paste are fresh, then you need to add salt to taste.

Step 9

Step 9
Turn on the multicooker at 180 degrees Celsius. And leave to cook for 2.5 hours. Then add oregano and leave for another 30 minutes.

Step 10

Step 10
As a side dish for chicken Cacciatore, it is good to prepare pasta, baked potatoes or masher.
