Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake pollock in sour cream in the oven? Prepare your food. I took ready-made pressed fish fillets. But you can use regular fillets or whole pieces of fish.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel the onions and cut into thin half rings. To prevent onion juice from irritating your eyes as much, rinse the onion and knife with cold water before slicing. If you rub a piece of lemon on your cutting board, it will not absorb the unpleasant onion smell.

Step 3

Step 3
Grate the hard cheese on a coarse grater. You can use any cheese, as long as it melts well in the oven and is tasty.

Step 4

Step 4
Season the fish fillet with salt, pepper and lemon juice. Use your favorite fish spices if you like. In this case, be sure to read the composition on the package before use. If there is already salt in the mixture, take this into account when you salt the fish, otherwise you risk oversalting.

Step 5

Step 5
In a separate small container, combine sour cream with mayonnaise and mustard. Sour cream can be replaced with thick natural yogurt without additives.

Step 6

Step 6
Stir the sauce until smooth.

Step 7

Step 7
Lightly grease a heatproof dish with refined vegetable oil with a high smoke point. Place onion half rings.

Step 8

Step 8
Brush each piece of fish on one side with the resulting sour cream sauce.

Step 9

Step 9
Place the fillets, sour cream side down, on the onion bed.

Step 10

Step 10
Pour the remaining sour cream mixture over the fish. Place the pan in an oven preheated to 180 degrees (10-20 minutes before the start of cooking). Bake for approximately 15 minutes.

Step 11

Step 11
Remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle grated cheese on top of the fish. Return to bake for another 15 minutes until golden brown.
