Step 1

Step 1
How to make buckwheat porridge with carrots and onions? Prepare the necessary ingredients for this. No matter how much buckwheat you take, there should be exactly twice as much water.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel the onion and rinse in cold water. Then finely chop the onion. Heat a frying pan until hot and pour a little vegetable oil on it. Add the chopped onion and fry for a minute until it becomes translucent.

Step 3

Step 3
Peel the carrots, rinse to remove dirt and chop. You can cut the carrots into pieces or grate them.

Step 4

Step 4
Place the chopped carrots in the pan with the onions. Stir and fry everything together for a couple more minutes. During this time, the carrots will become softer.

Step 5

Step 5
Rinse the buckwheat several times in cold water. Then drain all excess water from it. The washed buckwheat can be placed in a fine sieve. Then add buckwheat to the pan.

Step 6

Step 6
Fill with hot water. Sprinkle salt and spices to taste. For spices I use ground pepper and some dried aromatic herbs. Mix everything and cover with a lid. Bring to a boil. Then turn the heat to minimum and leave to cook for 15-20 minutes.

Step 7

Step 7
During cooking, the buckwheat will become soft, increase in size and absorb all the water.

Step 8

Step 8
Buckwheat porridge with carrots and onions is ready! Stir and serve hot. This buckwheat can be an excellent side dish for meat dishes. Bon appetit!
