Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make childrenʼs pilaf like in kindergarten? Prepare the necessary products. It is best to take young beef. It will cook faster and be juicier. I have veal. It is important that the meat is fresh, without bones or tendons. Rice can be taken either round or long grain. A separate article at the link at the end of the recipe will help you choose rice.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the beef and dry it. Cut the meat into small pieces.

Step 3

Step 3
Heat vegetable oil in a thick-bottomed frying pan. Place the beef pieces. Fry the meat over moderately high heat until lightly browned. Turn the meat frequently during cooking to ensure the pieces are cooked evenly on all sides. After a fried crust has formed on the pieces of meat, add a little water to the pan and simmer the meat over moderate heat until soft. At the same time, salt the meat a little.

Step 4

Step 4
Peel the onion and cut into small cubes.

Step 5

Step 5
Peel and wash the carrots. Cut the vegetable into thin strips. Keep in mind that the final result in this dish depends on how you chop the carrots: grated carrots during heat treatment will turn into mush and mix evenly with the rest of the ingredients, cut into strips will retain their shape.

Step 6

Step 6
In another frying pan, fry the vegetables with the addition of vegetable oil, stirring occasionally. The onions will become golden and the carrots will become brighter. Check vegetables for doneness. They should become almost soft. You can read how to choose the right frying pan for cooking and oil for frying after the description of the recipe using the links.

Step 7

Step 7
Add tomato paste to the vegetables in the pan and stir.

Step 8

Step 8
Simmer vegetables with tomato paste for 1 minute.

Step 9

Step 9
Rinse the rice several times until the water is clean. Drain the water.

Step 10

Step 10
When the meat becomes soft, add fried vegetables to it and stir.

Step 11

Step 11
Pour rice on top, distributing it evenly over the entire surface of the meat and vegetables.

Step 12

Step 12
Carefully pour hot water into the pan and add salt. Usually the proportions of rice and water are 1:2, that is, for 1 part rice you need 2 parts water. However, the exact amount depends on the size of your pan. The water should be at least 1 cm above the rice level.

Step 13

Step 13
Bring the dish to a boil. Then reduce the heat, cover the pan with a lid and cook the pilaf over moderate heat for approximately 25 minutes until the water is absorbed. The rice should become soft. Cooking time will depend on the operation of your stove, as well as the quality of the rice.

Step 14

Step 14
Gently mix the pilaf and let it brew on the stove off with the lid closed for 10-15 minutes.

Step 15

Step 15
Serve baby pilaf with fresh vegetable salad and herbs. Bon appetit!
