Kefir Omelette: Tasty Breakfast Alternative to Milk

A hearty, simple, budget-friendly and delicious breakfast for the whole family! An omelette made with kefir in a frying pan is in no way inferior to the classic one cooked in milk. The omelet turns out with a slight sourness and kefir taste. An excellent substitute if there is no milk in the house.

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make an omelette from eggs with kefir in a frying pan? Very simple and easy! To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. It is better to use kefir and eggs at room temperature, because salt does not dissolve well in a cold mixture. Instead of vegetable oil, you can use butter to grease the pan.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the parsley, dry and finely chop. If you wish, you can replace or supplement with other herbs, for example, dill, cilantro, green onions, or use a mixture of different herbs.

Step 3

Step 3
Grate the cheese on a coarse or medium grater. Any cheese is suitable for this dish — hard, semi-hard, soft, like mozzarella. The main thing is that it is tasty, of high quality, without milk fat substitutes, and melts well.

Step 4

Step 4
Break the eggs into a deep bowl. Salt and pepper. If the eggs are small, take 3 pieces.

Step 5

Step 5
Pour in kefir at room temperature. Whisk everything until smooth. There is no need to beat for a long time. The salt crystals should completely dissolve.

Step 6

Step 6
Sift the flour through a sieve into the omelette mixture and stir, breaking up any lumps. The mixture should have the consistency of liquid sour cream. You can make it thinner if you prefer a more delicate omelette.

Step 7

Step 7
Add chopped herbs to the omelette and stir.

Step 8

Step 8
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Pour the egg-milk mixture into the pan. Sprinkle grated cheese on top.

Step 9

Step 9
Reduce heat to low and fry the omelette, covered, for 5-7 minutes. Please note that the diameter and thickness of the finished omelet directly depends on the size of your frying pan. My frying pan diameter is 22 cm.

Step 10

Step 10
Transfer the finished omelette to a plate and serve. Bon appetit!
