Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make sandwiches with herring on black bread with pickled cucumber? Prepare your food. Cut the black bread into thin slices. You can take Borodino bread with coriander or use regular rye bread. It will be delicious in both cases.

Step 2

Step 2
Using a small sharp knife, using a regular cut glass (or any other round shape), cut the bread pieces into a circle shape.

Step 3

Step 3
Peel the red onion and cut into thin rings. It can be replaced with regular white onions or shallots. The main thing is that the onion itself is small in size so that you get neat rings. Cut the pickled cucumber into thin rings diagonally.

Step 4

Step 4
Spread the bread with soft butter. You will need about a teaspoon per sandwich. It is better to remove the oil from the refrigerator in advance (ten minutes before starting to prepare the snack) to make it easier to work with.

Step 5

Step 5
Place a slice of pickled cucumber on the sandwiches.

Step 6

Step 6
Next add the onion. It’s better not to take it apart into separate rings. This will make the snack look more impressive.

Step 7

Step 7
Place two slices of herring on top of the sandwiches. Before serving, garnish the sandwiches with fresh dill (or any other herbs of your choice) and olive rings. Serve to the table. Bon appetit!
