Ingredients (3 portions)

Basic:

Onion 2 pc
Tomatoes 6 pc
Olive oil 2 tbsp
Salt to taste
Ground black pepper to taste
Water 50 ml
Vinegar (9%) 50 ml
Greenery (maybe dried) to taste
Ground red pepper to taste

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
To prepare the salad, prepare everything you need. Choose the most ripe and sweet tomatoes. If you don’t have fresh herbs, you can use dried ones. I will add dried basil to the lard. The peppers will be more flavorful if you grind them with a grinder directly into the salad.

Step 2

Step 2
Peel the onion and rinse in cold water. Then cut the peeled onion into thin rings. If you use large onions, they can be cut into half rings.

Step 3

Step 3
Place the chopped onion in a deep plate and cover with water and vinegar. I use 9% vinegar. Then soak the onions? The onions in vinegar will marinate well and become very tasty and aromatic. Leave the onion to stand for 15-20 minutes. Then drain the liquid and rinse once with cold water.

Step 4

Step 4
Wash the tomatoes in running water to remove dirt. Cut each tomato into 2 parts, cut out the stem with a sharp knife and cut it into thin slices.

Step 5

Step 5
Place the tomatoes in a salad bowl. Add fresh or dried herbs. You can use any bowl — plastic, glass or ceramic.

Step 6

Step 6
Next, add pickled onions to the salad. Lightly salt the salad and add ground peppers.

Step 7

Step 7
Season the salad with olive oil. Instead of olive oil, you can use sunflower oil.

Step 8

Step 8
Mix the salad thoroughly and cool slightly in the refrigerator. Before serving, transfer the salad to a salad bowl. Serve aromatic tomato and onion salad with pilaf. It perfectly complements hearty pilaf with its juiciness and freshness. Bon appetit!
