Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make a salad with croutons and smoked sausage? Prepare all ingredients. Cut the sausage into thin strips. For this recipe I used good quality semi-smoked sausage. Wash fresh cucumbers under running water, dry, cut off the ends and also cut into strips. The sausage can be left as is, or you can lightly fry it in a dry frying pan until browned — with fried sausage the salad will have a slightly different taste.

Step 2

Step 2
Grate the cheese on a coarse grater. Choose high-quality natural cheese. Drain the brine from the canned corn and transfer it from the jar to a bowl — choose corn from a trusted manufacturer so that it is sweet and juicy. Wash the eggs with a brush and boil hard for 10 minutes. Next, cool in cold water, peel and cut into large cubes. I used homemade eggs, which have a distinct orange color and flavor.

Step 3

Step 3
Place sausage, corn, eggs, cucumbers and cheese in a deep bowl. We donʼt add crackers yet.

Step 4

Step 4
Add mayonnaise. My mayonnaise is quite fatty — 72%. 50 grams was enough for my salad. If your mayonnaise is not very fatty, then add more. In general, you can adjust the amount of mayonnaise to your taste. I didnʼt add any extra salt to the salad. You can also make mayonnaise for salad yourself, it will be healthier and tastier. At the end of the recipe you will find a link to homemade mayonnaise recipes.

Step 5

Step 5
Now mix everything thoroughly and the salad with croutons, smoked sausage and corn is ready, but I have it without croutons for now — I added them later. Crackers must be added just before serving, otherwise they will become soggy. You can mix them with the salad or place the salad on a serving plate and sprinkle croutons on top. Choose crackers with the flavor of bacon, red caviar, crab, etc. — whatever you like. I used three different flavors of croutons.
