Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make cabbage in sour cream in the oven? Prepare all the necessary products. Take natural sour cream, without milk fat substitute. Fat content does not play a big role: 10% and 30% sour cream will do.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the head of cabbage very well with hot water. It is best to use a special brush and vegetable washing product. In addition, it is necessary to remove the top 2-3 sheets — there is a lot of stubborn dirt on them. Cut the cabbage into medium pieces: do not chop or shred the cabbage under any circumstances. These should be diamonds with a side of 2-3 cm.

Step 3

Step 3
Heat water in a saucepan, add salt and bring to a boil. Boil the chopped cabbage in boiling water for about 3-4 minutes, it should become a little softer.

Step 4

Step 4
Place the cabbage in a sieve or colander. The water should drain well.

Step 5

Step 5
Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan. It can be anything: sunflower, olive, or any vegetable in general. But since we will be frying the cabbage, use refined oil so that it does not burn in the pan. Add cabbage to the pan and fry it over fairly high heat for 5-7 minutes. The cabbage should be slightly browned.

Step 6

Step 6
Prepare a heat-resistant dish for preparing our dish. Place the cabbage in the pan and press it down a little. At this stage, you can add some herbs and seasonings to the dish. Here, be guided by your taste: for some, ground pepper will be enough, while others may decide to add fresh chopped herbs: dill, parsley, cilantro or a clove of fresh garlic.

Step 7

Step 7
Pour sour cream over cabbage. If the sour cream is thick, spread it evenly over the cabbage using a spoon.

Step 8

Step 8
Sprinkle grated cheese on top. It can also be anything: hard, semi-solid and even moldy.

Step 9

Step 9
Cover the pan with foil, but make sure it doesnʼt touch the cheese. Otherwise, the cheese will stick to the foil. Place in an oven preheated to 180°C and cook for 20 minutes. Since our cabbage was almost ready, the cooking time was not long at all.

Prepared cabbage is delicious both hot and cold. Bon appetit!
