Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make kindergarten-style meatballs with gravy? Prepare the necessary ingredients. If you wish, you can use ready-made minced meat instead of turning it yourself, as I do. I have pork tenderloin with a little fat. Take round or long rice, choose for yourself. Rinse it well. Peel and wash the onions.

Step 2

Step 2
Fill the pan with water. Place the rice in a saucepan and place it on the stove. Cook the rice until cooked, adding salt to the water. I added two glasses of water to half a glass of rice.

Step 3

Step 3
Place the cooked rice in a colander and let the water drain completely.

Step 4

Step 4
Grind the pork through a meat grinder along with onions. To make it easier, cut the onion into 4 parts (donʼt forget to remove the “butts”).

Step 5

Step 5
Add boiled rice to the minced pork.

Step 6

Step 6
Beat a raw chicken egg into the minced meat.

Step 7

Step 7
Add some salt.

Step 8

Step 8
Pepper. And mix the minced meat well with a spoon and then with your hands.

Step 9

Step 9
Using wet hands, form the minced meat into round meatballs. Place 2-3 tablespoons of wheat flour into a flat plate. Dredge each meatball in flour on all sides.

Step 10

Step 10
Heat a frying pan with vegetable oil on the stove. Fry the meatballs, carefully turning them on different sides. They need a golden brown crust to appear on them.

Step 11

Step 11
This is how I get them during the frying process. Please note that the meatballs must all fit in the pan.

Step 12

Step 12
For the sauce, mix tomato paste with water in a deep plate. For me this is one glass of water.

Step 13

Step 13
Pour tomato sauce over the meatballs in a frying pan and simmer over low heat for about 10 minutes. Determine the exact time based on your stove.

Step 14

Step 14
In a separate bowl, mix sour cream with a spoonful of flour. Pour in half a glass of water and stir until smooth. To make the sauce taste more pleasant, you can pre-fry the flour in a dry frying pan until it changes color slightly.

Step 15

Step 15
Pour the mixture of sour cream and flour into the meatballs and simmer the dish for another 10-15 minutes under the lid over low heat. At this stage you need to achieve the desired thickness of the gravy. My family likes it thinner, so I added another 0.5 cup of water.

Step 16

Step 16
Then add bay leaf to the dish, simmer for another 2 minutes and turn off the heat.

Step 17

Step 17
Invite the kids to the table quickly and try it yourself! Our meatballs are ready like in kindergarten!

Step 18

Step 18
Any side dish goes with them: potatoes, porridge, or, as in my case, pasta) Bon appetit!
