Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to make chocolate flan? Prepare all the necessary ingredients.

Step 2

Step 2
You can use any molds for flan — silicone for cupcakes, ceramic ramekins for soufflé or regular cups, as well as fragrant cups made from orange peel.

Step 3

Step 3
To make cups, cut the washed orange in half, and then remove the core using a teaspoon.

Step 4

Step 4
If the molds are ceramic or silicone, grease them with a thin layer of butter and sprinkle with cocoa (it will look like a French shirt). Turn on the oven to heat up to 200 degrees.

Step 5

Step 5
Crumble the chocolate into a small bowl and add the butter. Add salt (2 pinches is enough, salt will highlight the sweetness).

Step 6

Step 6
Melt chocolate with butter and salt. A water bath, low-temperature oven or microwave is suitable for this.

Step 7

Step 7
Cool the chocolate mixture slightly and transfer it to a mixing bowl.

Step 8

Step 8
Beat eggs into a separate bowl and add sugar.

Step 9

Step 9
Beat the sugar and eggs into a fluffy foam. The sugar should dissolve.

Step 10

Step 10
Add the egg mixture to the chocolate mixture in a thin stream and stir constantly.

Step 11

Step 11
Add flavorings (vanilla and rum). How to replace vanilla flavoring, read the article below the steps.

Step 12

Step 12
Add orange juice (or cognac). Mix well.

Step 13

Step 13
Sift flour into the chocolate mixture and stir until smooth. The dough for the flan is ready, it turns out quite liquid and flowing. You may need a little less or more flour, check the consistency of the dough. Read about the properties of flour in a separate article at the end of the recipe.

Step 14

Step 14
Divide the resulting mixture into molds.

Step 15

Step 15
Do not fill completely, because... The flan rises as it bakes.

Step 16

Step 16
Bake at 200 degrees for 4 to 15 minutes. The times are approximate and will depend on the operating characteristics of your oven. Read more about ovens in the article at the end of this recipe.

Step 17

Step 17
After 4 minutes there is liquid hot chocolate inside, for those who like it.

Step 18

Step 18
And after 15 minutes, the flan dessert is a slightly moist cake, fragrant and just as tasty. Using the trial method, select your option for the thickness of the center.
