Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake pork meat in French with potatoes and cheese in the oven? Prepare the products according to the list. Take fresh pork, preferably the neck part. If you use frozen meat, it should be thawed. My cheese is semi-soft. Salt and pepper to taste. Also prepare the pan for use in the oven. Read about defrosting, as well as choosing a baking dish, in separate articles using the links at the end of the recipe. Turn on the oven to 200 degrees in advance.

Step 2

Step 2
Rinse the pork under cold running water and pat dry with paper towels. Cut the meat into arbitrary pieces about 1 — 1.5 cm thick. Beat each piece on both sides with a culinary hammer. Place the meat in a bowl, add salt, pepper, mayonnaise and stir. Leave the meat for a few minutes while the vegetables are prepared. If desired, you can add chopped garlic to the meat. Below the steps you will find recipes for homemade mayonnaise.

Step 3

Step 3
Wash the potatoes, peel them, cut them into thin slices and mix with salt. Cover the selected baking dish or baking sheet with baking paper (you can not cover it, but grease it with vegetable oil). Place the chopped potatoes in the baking dish, spreading them evenly across the bottom of the dish.

Step 4

Step 4
Peel the onions and cut into rings or half rings. Distribute the chopped onion evenly over the potatoes.

Step 5

Step 5
Place the prepared meat on top of the chopped onion, filling all the space above the onion. Then you can cover the baking dish with foil, or you can leave it open and put it in the oven. But in the second option, you should take into account that during baking the meat will decrease slightly in size. Bake the meat at 200 degrees for about 1 hour. The exact time depends on the type of potato and your oven. Read more about ovens in the article at the link at the end of the recipe.

Step 6

Step 6
After an hour, remove the pan with meat from the oven and sprinkle with grated cheese. Place the pan back in the oven until the cheese crust is golden brown. Serve the pork hot, French style. Bon appetit!
