Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake pumpkin in the oven with honey? Very simple! To begin, prepare the necessary ingredients according to the list. You can use any type of pumpkin. Depending on the variety and sweetness of the pumpkin, you can adjust the honey to taste. You can replace honey with sugar or vanilla sugar. You can omit the orange if you wish.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the orange thoroughly and dry. Using a grater, remove a thin layer of zest, being careful not to touch the white bitter layer. Then cut the fruit in half and squeeze the juice from one half.

Step 3

Step 3
In a bowl, mix honey, vegetable oil, orange juice and zest. Mix everything until smooth. If the honey is candied, melt and cool it first.

Step 4

Step 4
Peel the pumpkin from seeds and peel. Cut into not very thick slices. If desired, you can cut into large cubes.

Step 5

Step 5
Place the pumpkin slices in a bowl. Pour in the honey-orange marinade and mix thoroughly.

Step 6

Step 6
Place the pumpkin in a baking dish in a single layer. Place in a preheated oven at 180°C and bake the pumpkin for 30-40 minutes or a little longer until soft. The exact baking time depends on the type of pumpkin and the size of the slices.

Step 7

Step 7
While the pumpkin is baking, lightly toast the sesame seeds in a dry frying pan.

Step 8

Step 8
Transfer the finished pumpkin to a plate. Pour over the juice released during baking and sprinkle with sesame seeds. Serve garnished with star anise and mint. Bon appetit!
