Ingredients (5 portions)

Basic:

Sugar 1 tbsp
Apples 1 pc
Butter 1 tbsp
Eggs 1 pc
Honey 1 tbsp
White bread (sandwich bread, 5 pieces) 200 g
Ground cinnamon 1 tsp

Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake apple pies from bread? Prepare all the necessary ingredients for cooking. When making pies, instead of dough we will use toast or, as it is also called, sandwich bread.

Step 2

Step 2
Wash the apple and dry it with a towel. Cut the apple into small cubes.

Step 3

Step 3
Place a piece of butter in a frying pan, place the frying pan on the heat and melt the butter. Once the butter is melted, add the chopped apples to the pan and cook them over medium heat, stirring them constantly.

Step 4

Step 4
Then add a little sugar and honey to the apples and mix the ingredients. Continue cooking and stirring the apple filling until all the moisture has evaporated and the apples are soft.

Step 5

Step 5
Then add ground cinnamon and mix the filling again for future pies. Adjust the sweetness while simmering the apples, tasting them.

Step 6

Step 6
Now that the filling is ready, let it cool slightly. Meanwhile, prepare the sandwich bread. Using a sharp knife, cut off the bread crusts around the entire perimeter so that only the white crumb remains.

Step 7

Step 7
Using a rolling pin, roll out all the pieces of white bread while maintaining a square shape. Rolled bread into a thin layer will become more flexible, it will not crumble, and it will be convenient to work with. Thus, “dough” blanks for pies are obtained.

Step 8

Step 8
Beat the egg into a separate small container and, using a whisk, whisk it slightly until smooth. Using a silicone brush, brush the perimeter of each square with egg wash.

Step 9

Step 9
Place 1 tablespoon of boiled apples on one half of the squares, so that the edges of the bread remain free (they will be needed for further fastening of the pies). Level the filling so that it is evenly distributed over the half of the pie. On the other half of the bread (free), use the corner of a sharp knife to make several cuts (I have 5).

Step 10

Step 10
Next, place the free half of the bread on the apple filling and use a fork to connect the edges of the pie along the entire perimeter. Do this procedure with all pies. To make the pies more neat, beautiful and even, use a knife to cut off all the irregularities around the perimeter of the pies.

Step 11

Step 11
Place baking paper on a baking sheet and place the pies on it.

Step 12

Step 12
Brush them with the remaining egg mixture and place the baking sheet with the pies in an oven preheated to 190°C. Bake until nicely golden, 15 minutes.

Step 13

Step 13
Remove the finished pies from the oven and let them cool slightly so as not to burn yourself, as the filling is very hot. Bon appetit!
