Recipe instructions

Step 1

Step 1
How to bake a layer cake with cheese in the oven? Prepare the following ingredients. You will need ready-made puff pastry. If you have it frozen, then you should first defrost it (remove it from the package, and after a few minutes separate the plates from each other and leave for 1-1.5 hours at room temperature). I use yeast-free dough; if you use yeast dough, the cooking time will increase. Turn on the oven to preheat to 180 degrees.

Step 2

Step 2
Divide the defrosted dough into two layers (I originally had two squares). Roll out one layer a little in different directions with a rolling pin. If you want the dough to be more fluffy, then do not roll it out too much (or just stretch it in different directions with your hands). Line a baking tray with baking paper and place a rolled out layer of puff pastry. You can choose the right parchment by reading a separate article at the link at the end of the recipe.

Step 3

Step 3
Grate the hard cheese on a coarse grater. Place the grated cheese evenly on the first sheet of dough, not reaching the edges by about 1.5 — 2 cm.

Step 4

Step 4
Roll out or stretch the second sheet of dough with your hands to the same size as the first. Cover the dough with the filling with the second sheet, fastening the dough together along the entire perimeter of the pie.

Step 5

Step 5
Lightly beat the egg with a fork in a separate bowl. Using a pastry brush, brush the entire cake and sprinkle with sesame seeds if desired. Place the cheese pie in the preheated oven for 15 to 20 minutes. The exact time depends on your oven. You can learn about the operating features of ovens by reading a separate article, link at the end of the recipe.

Step 6

Step 6
Remove the finished pie from the oven and be sure to let it cool a little to evenly distribute the moisture. Once the pie has cooled slightly, cut it into portions. Bon appetit!
